What's included
Our Fes Cooking Class allows you to learn about and taste the traditional food of Fes, Morocco. The session is usually held in a local kitchen or culinary school and is conducted by an experienced chef or teacher who will walk you through the stages of creating various Moroccan cuisine.
Expect to learn about the ingredients, methods, and tastes that are crucial to Moroccan cuisine throughout the cooking session. Spices such as cumin, coriander, and saffron which are staples of the Moroccan cuisine will be introduced to you, and you will learn how to combine them to create complex and exquisite taste combinations.
Among the foods you could learn to create in our Fes Cooking Class are:
- Tagine: A classic Moroccan meal made with meat or vegetables that are gently cooked in a cone-shaped clay pot known as a tagine.
- Couscous: A traditional Moroccan meal composed of tiny semolina wheat grains that is cooked and eaten with vegetables, meat, or fish.
- Harira: A substantial soup prepared with lentils, chickpeas, tomatoes, and spices that is commonly eaten during Ramadan.
- Pastilla: A delicious pastry stuffed with pigeon or chicken flesh, eggs, nuts, and spices and topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
- Moroccan mint tea: A fragrant and pleasant tea brewed with fresh mint leaves and green tea, served hot.
You will get the opportunity to ask questions, sample the dishes as you go, and develop a greater understanding of the tastes and traditions of Moroccan and Fassi cuisine during the lesson. Of course, at the end of the lesson, you will be able to enjoy a great lunch that you prepared all by yourself!
